On This Day
The music world was devastated in 1990 by the tragic passing of guitar virtuoso Stevie Ray Vaughan in a helicopter crash following a concert at the Alpine Valley Music Theatre in Wisconsin. Having led a global renaissance for electric blues throughout the nineteen-eighties with Double Trouble, Vaughan’s blistering technique and passionate phrasing left an indelible mark on the history of blues-rock.
