On This Day
The music world was left in shock in 1977 following the untimely death of glam rock trailblazer Marc Bolan in a car accident in Barnes, London, two weeks shy of his thirtieth birthday. Rex, Bolan’s infectious acoustic fantasies and electrifying boogie anthems had defined early-seventies British pop culture, igniting the feverish phenomenon of Bolanmania.
