On This Day
Glam rock reached a fever pitch in 1972 as Slade held the number-one spot on the UK singles chart with Mama Weer All Crazee Now. Written by Noddy Holder and Jim Lea, the raucous, crowd-stomping anthem marked the band’s third British chart-topper, cementing their status as the defining hitmakers of the early seventies British glam boom.
